Virginia Housing Alliance (VHA) is pleased to invite you to our Virtual 2021 Housing Credit Conference!

The Housing Credit Conference provides networking and educational opportunities for tax professionals, developers, community development organizations, housing authorities, and other interested professionals in the emerging and established industry trends and best practices for leveraging low income housing tax credits (LIHTC).

Due to the growing concern for the Covid-19 variants, we have decided that this year’s event will be held virtually to keep our attendees safe. We hope you will join us for an exciting three days of learning and sharing. Details will be updated in real time so, please check back as new speakers and sessions will be added.

Keynote Speaker:

Thom Andur

President of National Housing & Rehabilitation Association

Thom joined National Housing & Rehabilitation (NH&RA) in 2004 and currently serves as its President. NH&RA is a national trade association and peer-network for affordable housing developers and related professionals including: investors, lenders, public agencies and professional advisers.

Thom also serves as the President of NH&RA’s subsidiary councils and chapters including the California Developers Council, Tennessee Developers Council and the National Council of Housing Market Analysts. In 2013 he spearheaded the launch of NH&RA’s Preservation through Energy Efficiency Project, a major educational initiative supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. 

Thom is a member of the Board of Directors for International Center for Appropriate & Sustainable Technology (iCAST) and serves on the Steering Committee of the Affordable Rental Housing ACTION Campaign, a coalition of 2,400 national, state and local organizations and businesses working to address the nation’s severe shortage of affordable housing. He also serves as a peer reviewer for SAHF’s Certified Organization for Resident Engagement & Services (CORES) Certification.  He is the recipient of the NHP Foundation’s 2018 Affordable Housing Advocacy Award.

Thom is a frequent speaker at affordable housing, sustainable development and tax credit industry events and has been published in a variety of industry journals including Tax Credit Advisor, Independent Banker, and the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credit Housing.  Thom also serves as the Associate Publisher of Tax Credit Advisor, a monthly magazine for tax credit and affordable housing professionals and is the President of Dworbell Inc., a boutique association management and communications firm in Washington, DC, which provides staffing for NH&RA as well as the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association and the National Aging in Place Council.

Thom was previously employed at a national lobbying firm with a practice focused on financial services and technology issues. Prior to moving to Washington, Thom worked in media relations in the New York State Assembly and as a research assistant for New Hampshire Governor Jeanne Shaheen. Thom graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University with a double major in Political Science and History.

Thom is an avid cyclist, homebrewer and the proud father of three great kids.
