VHA is happy to introduce Bridget Moss, our second July VISTA Spotlight. Bridget serves at  Charlottesville Redevelopment & Housing Authority (CRHA) as the Economic Opportunity VISTA.

About Bridget:

Bridget Moss graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and later graduated from the University of Virginia with a Master of Science in Nursing degree. She previously worked as a nurse practitioner, specializing in neurology. Last year she graduated from the University of Michigan with a Master of Public Health degree, with the goal of changing careers to work on systemic change issues. She is especially interested in policy, research, and environmental health.

Current Project:

This past year Bridget has worked with the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority as an AmeriCorps VISTA. She has worked on multiple projects such as building a database resource, growing community partnerships, survey development, staff training, eviction diversion, and data collection and analysis.

Currently, Bridget is working on a staff and resident monthly newsletter as well as updating reporting measures based on CRHA’s annual and 5-year strategic plan. She also plans on building a data dashboard to be used on CRHA’s website, a skill she has developed in the past year. These projects will enhance communication between CRHA staff and residents, highlight the work CRHA is doing, and allow the public to see what affordable housing efforts are happening in their community.
