Allison joined the Virginia Housing Alliance as a Policy and Advocacy Associate in August 2022. Prior to VHA, Allison worked as a Policy Fellow for the Atlanta City Council, with an emphasis on issues related to housing affordability, wealth disparity, and local economics. She holds a B.A. in Government and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Virginia. Her passion for affordable housing first began after managing a research project to examine the housing crisis in Charlottesville, VA.

Ashley Jordan is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Mass Communication. Her passion for social justice and equity led her to work with Habitat for Humanity and other nonprofits dedicated to closing the racial gap. Ashley’s work in the media industry includes being published in print and contributing to Netflix’s documentary 13th, which explores the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States. Her experience has given her a deep appreciation for the power of communication in shaping perceptions and creating positive change.

Brian Koziol has been with the Virginia Housing Alliance since 2019. Prior to joining VHA, he was the Director of Policy and Research with Housing Opportunities Made Equal of VA. Brian has worked on a variety of housing-related issues both as a researcher and as a consultant to local governments across the country helping them to advance equitable housing policy. Brian holds a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University and resides in the Northside of Richmond.
Kia joined the Virginia Housing Alliance as the Resource Development Specialist in November 2023. Kia holds a Masters of Business Administration in Social Impact from Boston University, where she focused on nonprofit management and strategic planning. Prior to joining the VHA, Kia worked in fundraising and helped co-found a nonprofit that operates recurring direct cash transfer programs in Boston. As a Virginia native, she is passionate about advancing equitable housing access and opportunities in her home state

Isabel McLain joined the Virginia Housing Alliance as the Director of Policy and Advocacy in April 2023. Prior to VHA, Isabel was the Research and Policy Analyst for Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Virginia (HOME). Before coming to Virginia, Isabel worked with the Homeless Persons Representation Project (HPRP) to advance equitable policies and practices in Maryland. In addition, Isabel spent several years as a case manager for people experiencing housing instability and homelessness. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore with a focus on community action and social policy.

Hannah Moore is the Virginia Housing Alliance’s VISTA Program Manager. She holds a Bachelors of International Relations from North Carolina State University and has an extensive service background; having served as an Americorps NCCC member throughout the Midwest region as well as a Youth and Community Development Specialist for the Peace Corps in Ecuador. Most recently, Hannah acted as the Volunteer and Partnership Manager for a parks organization in Washington, D.C. Through these experiences, she’s recognized the power of service as a conduit for social change at the grassroots level and uses these experiences to assist VISTA members throughout their service year.

Abdul Qayumi joined the Virginia Housing Alliance as Office Manager in January 2019. Prior to VHA, Abdul served as the Office Manager for Kabul Khurasan (KKG) Construction Company. Abdul has many years of experience in hospitality management and sales and holds his degree in business from the University of Kabul, Afghanistan.

Lois Wallenhorst joined the Virginia Housing Alliance in July 2022. She has worked in a variety of non-profit settings, with focused expertise in database creation and maintenance, grants management and membership and major giving programs.
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lois received her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Minnesota.
