VHA is excited to introduce March’s VISTA Spotlight, Kaiden Pritchett, the Regional Affordable Housing VISTA member at the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC) in Charlottesville, VA.
About Kaiden:
Kaiden Pritchett is from Barboursville, Virginia, where he attended William Monroe High School. From there, he was accepted into the University of Richmond (UR) and became the first generation in his family to go to college. He eventually graduated with a major in political science. While attending UR, he was also a member of the football team and helped lead his team to a conference championship title in his final season. It was during his time in college that he gained experience as the First District intern for Councilman Addison of the City of Richmond.
Current Project:
Over the past six months, Kaiden has played a pivotal role in developing innovative strategies and enhancing effective communication for the Central Virginia Regional Housing Partnership (CVRHP). His responsibilities encompass managing and crafting the Monthly Newsletters, compiling comprehensive Quarterly Reports, and maintaining the CVRHP’s dynamic blog, “The Regional Review,” which highlights critical housing news, regional developments, and compelling stories that resonate with the community.
Demonstrating his proactive approach and commitment to regional housing solutions, Kaiden created the Program Resource Library—a user-friendly housing tool designed to centralize and streamline access to vital housing resources across the region. His dedication extends to the meticulous planning and support of the CVRHP’s Regional Housing Summit, an impactful event that convenes stakeholders, policy advocates, elected officials, and industry professionals to foster meaningful dialogue and collaborative solutions for housing challenges in Central Virginia.
In addition to his contributions to the CVRHP, Kaiden serves on the board of the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program as the administrator for Phase 41 and Phase 42 in the City of Charlottesville. His meticulous oversight ensures the seamless execution of each phase through strategic advertising, thorough application assessments, and well-structured plan proposals presented to the Local Board. Kaiden’s ability to manage multiple complex programs while delivering tangible results underscores his exceptional organizational skills, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to community support and development.
